Fred Blake, 95, of Des Moines, Iowa died Wednesday, November 1, 2006. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 6, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon. Burial will be in Palmyra Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
Fred was born April 1, 1911 in Carlisle, Iowa to Francis E. and Mary Ellen Frush Blake.
He worked as a carpenter for Capp Homes. Fred was a lifetime member of the Carpenters Union Local #106.
Fred is survived by one daughter, Joanne (Robert) Seals; one son, Dwight (Laura) Blake; four grandchildren, Brooke Funderburke, Robert Seals, Jeremy Blake, and Andrew Blake; two great-grandchildren, Claire Funderburke and Maya Blake,
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clarice, one son, Harold Blake; two sisters, Grace Smith and Edna Deaton; and one brother, Forest Blake.
