Mary was born in Prince George’s, MD to Lillie (Diane) Willett and Leo Quade on February 15, 1950. She had a son named James Willett, born in Prince George, MD, followed by Willard Lancaster Jr. born in LaPlada, MD then she moved to Iowa. In 1978, her little princess arrived, Lisa Edwards, born in Centerville, IA. Mary’s career of choice was being a nursing assistant in care facilities or being a homemaker, taking care of her 3 children that meant the world to her. Mary had a big heart for animals and anyone that she could help. If she had to give up her last meal to an animal she would. As her adult years continued, in 2013 she had reconnected with the love of her life that she left back when she was 18 years old, and his name is Elmer Goldsborogh ending her final stages of life with a relationship with the love of her life. Elmer and Mary traveled between both states visiting her family. During their time in MD, they enjoyed singing karaoke together while visiting friends and family during their visits. During their time in IA, Mary enjoyed sitting outside drinking her coffee or tea, feeding all the animals in her sight, often sending Elmer to the store to buy peanuts for her squirrels, feeding birds and of course the “Cats” in the neighborhood. Mary enjoyed the nature and joy rides to get out of the house to see her animals or have a “cig.” Mary will be missed by all her friends, family and all the animals. Even the pets at home that will go to her bedroom door and try to pry the door to get her up to give the ‘cats’ some treats.
