(November 6, 1928 - March 2, 2021)

Jerri, age 92, fell asleep in death on March 2, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Indianola, IA. Jerri was born Geraldine Louise James on November 6, 1928 to John William and Claudia James in Chicago, IL. She was a longtime member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Indianola Congregation. She was raised in her childhood home in Des Moines near 31st and Grand Avenue and graduated from Roosevelt High School. She continued to live in the Des Moines area and retired from Allstate Insurance.
Born to Jerri was Teresa (Terri) Ann Gay who died in 1999. Terri had two sons, Tim (Diana) Caliger and children Elijah and Aniah, and Roger (Andrea) Caliger and children, Ben and Anna, all who live in the Des Moines area. Jerri was the oldest sister of four. Her sister Contance Wustman of California preceded her in death. Surviving are brother, Bill (Dolly) James of Rocklin, CA and Dick James of Marino Del Ray, CA.
Jerri had a wonderful sense of humor and loved telling childhood stories and remembering the happy times she had with her family. Her greatest love was studying the Bible with others. She found great joy in sharing scriptures with others. Everyone she met became a friend. She enjoyed dressing up and finding good sales on jewelry. Favorite things were having coffee, cookies and ice cream with all who visited.
Jerri was known as a friend, a spiritual mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Cox; and daughter.
