Ronald David Day
(February 18, 1941 - March 8, 2021)

Ronald David Day passed away peacefully on Monday, March 8, 2021, at the age of 80. He was surrounded by his loving wife of 58 years, Darlene, his five children and members of his family. A Memorial Mass will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Live stream will also be available on his obituary page of Overton Funeral Home’s website. Inurnment of cremains with Military Rites will follow in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Ron was born in Hanover, PA to Doris and Denton Day where he attended Hanover High School and later joined the Army.
His family and friends knew him as a kind, generous man that was always there to lend a helping hand to others. Ron was most happy on the water fishing with his friends and family, working on projects, especially woodworking, and cooking. He will always be remembered for his infectious laugh and his big heart.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene; children, Mike (Denise), Greg (Kelly), Lori (Dennis) Klug, Jennifer, and Brian (Kristin); daughter-in-law Ann; grandchildren Chelsea, Alyson (Rusty), Jake, Sam, Abbie (Dylan), Mitch, Kate, Tyler, Megan, Maddy, and Cason; great-grandchildren Lola, Sully, Hugo and Waylon; sisters Barb, Leah and brothers Larry and Dick. He is preceded in death by his son, David, sister, Connie and his parents Denton and Doris.
Visitation will be held prior to services from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to John Stoddard Cancer Center or the American Legion Post #165. The family would like to thank John Stoddard Cancer Center, EveryStep Home Hospice and Kavanagh House for their compassionate care.
