Lewis Tyler Woodward
(July 2, 1990 - March 15, 2021)

Lewis T. Woodward, 30, died unexpectedly March 15, 2021 at his apartment. He was born in Bridgeport, CT the son of Fay G. Woodward and Deborah K. Berkenbosch. Lewis graduated from Lewis Central High School, Class of 2008. Following graduation, Lewis attended college at Iowa Western College in Council Bluffs and studied Criminal Justice and Computer Science. He had planned to return to college to take several courses he had left to graduate with a dual degree. He also worked after high school at Central Life Sciences as a Warehouse Personnel Level II employee driving forklift loading and unloading tractor trailers and handling packages from 8/2008 to 1/2021.
Lewis married his high school sweetheart, Bridget Mulligan, and they settled in Council Bluffs, IA. They divorced in 12/2020. Lewis and Bridget Woodward have a 2-year-old daughter named Evelyn Woodward who they both love very much.
Lewis enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing poker on Saturday night with his friends, going out to play pool, and was very loving and protective of his family as well as helping those who needed it. He had 3 cats and a dog he loved very much.
His hobbies he enjoyed were; Hunting, fishing, target shooting with rifles and handguns, bowling, gaming, using computers, his phone and poker at the casino. He enjoyed fast cars and especially driving them. He enjoyed RC cars and racing them as well as going to the movies as well as watching movies at home. His two favorite movies were Tarzan and Armageddon. Lewis enjoyed listening to music especially rock music.
Lewis also attended Taekwondo classes in his twenties and stopped classes from one belt away from earning a 1st degree blackbelt.
Surviving in addition to his parents, he has two brothers, Gregory Woodward from PA and Jason Woodward from OR. Surviving in addition to his ex-wife, Bridget Woodward, are his daughter, Evelyn Woodward and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Overton Funeral Home 501 W. Ashland Avenue Indianola, IA 50125 where family will be present from 4 to 8 p.m. Face masks are required.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Lewis in a special way may make gifts in his memory to his daughter Evelyn Woodward for her education fund.
