Anna May Cooley
(September 14, 1924 - February 3, 2022)

Services for Anna May Cooley, 97, who passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022 in Norwalk, IA, will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. When we lose a mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, we lose the comfort and security of knowing she is just a phone call or short drive away. But we gain a lifetime of memories and this is the time to share and celebrate the life of a most amazing person.
Ann was born to Charlie and Emma Hildreth and was one of 8 children. She grew up on a farm near Des Moines where she met and married Edward William Cooley on October 17, 1941.
They were together 57 years until his passing in 1999. Six children were born to them - Edward LeRoy (Grace), Joanne Dora (Keith Blanchard), Wayne Dennis (Robin), Beverly Jean (Raymond Johnson), Penni Sue (Larry Bell), and Larry Scott (Marcinda); 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren; brother Carl (Sally) Hildreth.
Ann will always be remembered for her wonderful infectious laugh and her love of games - crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, cards, dice, and penny slot machines. She also loved throwing food out to the birds where she could watch them from her dining room table.
She passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She is well loved and will be forever in our hearts. We are comforted knowing she is now with those who have passed before - Edward William Cooley her husband, her daughter Joanne Blanchard, son Wayne Cooley, granddaughter Debra Ann Jenkins, daughter-in-law Sharon Cooley and six brothers and one sister.
