Cheryl Lynn Faktor
(January 10, 1959 - February 23, 2022)

A Celebration of Life Service for Cheryl “Cherie” Faktor, 63, who passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 in Des Moines, will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. The family requests those in attendance to dress casually.
Cherie married Mark on October 12, 1991 and a few short years later decided to be a full time mother to Brandon and Dillon. Cherie has a number of hobbies and passions and the majority of them revolve around animals. Her family growing up always had dogs and cats and one of her favorite breeds is the St Bernard. The first horse that she had was Sam and she had to earn and save her allowances to take care of him. She later had a horse name Roper which she entered in different shows. Cherie learned to knit and crochet from “Gram” which she made items all through life.
Cherie instilled great values and work ethic into her two sons, along with the love of animals. For Brandon, they loved talking about cars and they both enjoyed Jeep Wranglers. Brandon has taken that passion to work in a car dealership helping customers find their dream vehicle. He also has a love for his ducks and his rescued dog Tank. For Dillon, they loved talking about fast cars. His strong work ethic has him keeping the Indianola Country Club in top quality golf. Dillon and Cherie raised bulldogs and beagles.
While Cherie didn’t have much spare time, she still found time to run her own small business that she created. She had a line of goat’s milk products that she created and supplied from the goats she raised and milked each season. She also took her knitting and crochet skills to the next level by creating wool products from the many different fiber animals she raised and sheared to spin her own yarn or use the raw wool.
Cherie loved her animals and also used that passion to help other animals around this country. She donated time and resources to no-kill shelters and helped educate others on pet care and breed knowledge. Cherie was a Veterinarian Technician and Dog Groomer for many years. Remember to spay and neuter your pets! She was also a recurring judge for the cat show at the Iowa State Fair. While she is survived by many two-legged creatures, she is also survived by Frank (pug), Sally Mae Hoo (pug), Tank (rescued pitbull), Parker (St. Bernard), Gabe, Oliver (orange cat), Dipper (white calico cat), Beautiful (calico cat), Carlos (mini horse), Mrs. Carlos (mini horse), outside cats, geese (curly feathered), chickens, goats (which were great therapy), Shetland sheep, miniature donkeys, Stormy (horse) and Jake (horse).
She is survived by her husband Mark Faktor; sons, Brandon and Dillon Faktor; father, Charlie Nuechter; brother, Mike (Shelly) Nuechter and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bev Nuechter. This memorial is provided by Overton Funeral Home, 501 West Ashland Ave., Indianola, Iowa, http://www.overtonfuneral.com/
