Jessie Mae, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Cashman was born August 6, 1877 near Indianola, and died at her home near Liberty Center, December 20, 1925, aged 48 years, 4 months, and fourteen days. She has lived with the exception of five years, which was spent in South Dakota, in and around Indianola. On November 2, 1898, she was united in marriage to U. F. Williams of Liberty Center. To this union was born five children, Alice, Mrs. Edna Kerney, Naomi Raymond, and Clara Belle, who died in infancy. There also survive her husband and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Shutt of St. Charles, and two brothers, Mr. Charles Cashman of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and Mr. Harold Cashman of El Paso, Texas. Her last illness was one of intense suffering, covering a period of ten weeks, eight of which were spent in the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. She was then removed from the hospital to her home two weeks previous to her death. Her husband, children, and sister were at her bedside when she passed away. She was a loving wife, mother, and sister. She devoted her entire time to her home and family. She became a Christian and joined the M. E. Church at Indianola in the year 1894, later moving her membership to Medora, then to Liberty Center where she has been a faithful member. She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, four children, one sister, and two brothers, and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the M. E. Church in Liberty Center, Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. N. D. Gordon of Indianola, assisted by Rev. Reed W. Kessler of Indianola. Interment in the Shafar Cemetery.
