(May 14, 1933 - May 22, 2018)

LaVonne Myers, 85, of Winterset died Tuesday May 22, 2018, at Homestead of Osceola.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 3, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation and begin at 3:00 p.m. with a burial to follow in the Webb Cemetery in Warren County. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation and online condolences can be left at ochiltree.com.
LaVonne Bernadine Myers, daughter of Harvey and Grace (Hurlbut) Beck, was born May 14, 1933, in Indianola, Iowa. She attended schools in the Indianola area. She married Clinton Downey May 22, 1950, and two children were born to this union. LaVonne was later united in marriage with Richard Myers on March 24, 1990, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
LaVonne worked at various jobs throughout her life but was primarily a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed bowling and quilting in her free time. LaVonne was a talented cook and baker who enjoyed living the simple life.
LaVonne is survived by two sons, Bob Downey of Casa Grande, AZ and Richard Downey of Oregon; three grandchildren, Brad (Ana) Downey, Casey (Amanda) Downey, and Alyson Giovannucci; four great grandchildren; a sister, Donna Oberender of Osceola; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Grace Beck; husband, Richard Myers; and a sister, Maxine Sinclair.
