(September 21, 1852 – August 12, 1925)

Mrs. Sarah Brock
Sarah Notaboom, daughter of Ira and Mary Notaboom, was born in Pella, September 21, 1852, and departed this life August 12, 1925, at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 23 days, at the home of her daughter, Mary of Carlisle. She was united in marriage to William Brock and to this union was born 14 children, seven having preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband, William Brock, a son, Ira of Canada, Archie of Washington, John of Newton, Myrtle of Winterset, Mrs. Nellie Salsbury and Mrs. Sadie Hill of Patterson, Mrs. Mary Hines of Carlisle, where she has made her home for the past six years. Beside her children there are 24 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, four brothers and one sister. Grandma Brock as she was familiarly known was patient, kind and loving and will be missed by all who knew her and especially the little grandchildren with whom she has lived. Grandma Brock united with the Methodist church when 40 years of age at Patterson, where she still has her membership.
