James Arnott Moore
(January 20, 1868 – August 26, 1925)

James Arnott Moore, son of James and Martha Moore was born in Park County, Indiana, January 20, 1868 and passed away at his home in Indianola, Iowa, August 26, 1925 at the age of 57 years, seven months and six days. When four years of age he came with his parents to Mahaska County, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. He has been a resident of Indianola for the past nine years. He was united in marriage to Maude Miller of Afton, Iowa, April 25, 1894. To this union were born two children, Ilo Marian of Indianola and Mrs. John Buxton of Owatanna, Minn. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, two daughters, two grandchildren, three sisters, two brothers, one half brother, beside a host of other relatives and friends. He was a man held in high esteem by all who knew him, a loving husband and father. He united with the Methodist church in 1900, of which he was a faithful and devout member until his death. He had been in the employ of the Rock Island railroad for thirty-two years. The funeral services were held from the Methodist church in Indianola, August 28th at 9:00 a.m. and were conducted by his pastor, Dr. Woodard. The interment was made in the cemetery at Barnes City, Iowa, where a brief service was conducted by Rev. Strange of the Christian Church.
