Fred Rosco Farley
(October 12, 1879 – April 29, 1946)

Fred Rosco Farley, son of Lewis Farley and Nettie Reed, was born Oct. 12, 1879, at Palmyra and died at the home of his uncle, F. B. Michener, and Mrs. Michener, at Milo, April 29, 1946, at the age of 66 years, 6 months, and 17 days. He was united in marriage to Mabel Bailey at Ackworth March 2, 1899. To this union six sons and one daughter were born. Mr. Farley made his home most of his life in Iowa and had been a farmer. He was baptized and united with the Christian church at Ladysmith, Wis., in 1941, and was a faithful member until the time of his death. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mabel Farley; six sons, Claude Arthur, Reno E., Jarold M., and Kenneth, all of Ladysmith, Wis., Albert H. of Rippey, and Donald O. of Blue Grass; one daughter, Elsie Kersey of Grand Junction; eight brothers and sisters; 24 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Fred Farley devoted his life to his home and family. He built homes for his boys and tried in every way to help them. He will be greatly missed by his family, relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held in Milo at the Fielding Funeral Home Wednesday, May 1, at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Harold N. Olson, pastor of the Methodist church. The music was by Mrs. Cyril Spear and Mrs. H. W. Nutting, with Mrs. Lora Davey as accompanist. A second funeral service was held at the Methodist church at Rippey Thursday, May 2, at 2 p.m., with interment at Rippey.
