Evan Bryant Stewart
(July 5, 1870 – July 14, 1945)

Evan Bryant Stewart, son of Thomas and Catherine Stewart, was born July 5, 1870 in Warren County, Ia., near Indianola and died July 14, 1945, at the age of 75 years and 9 days, at the home of his sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Douglas, where he had made his home for the past several years. Eve, as he was known, lived all his life in Warren County except for a short time when he lived in Big Springs, Neb. He suffered a stroke several years ago and has been in poor health for some time. Besides his sister, Mrs. Ella Douglas, he leaves one brother, Thomas S. Stewart of Council Bluffs, also a large number of nieces and nephews. Eve was a good, kind and right citizen, a good neighbor, always ready with a helping hand in times of need. Services were held Tuesday, July 17, at 2 p.m. at the Overton Funeral Home with interment [in Shaver Cemetery, Cool, Warren County, Iowa] [Copied from a scrapbook at the Warren County Historical Society Library, Indianola, Iowa]
