John Gehringer Taken By Death
St. Marys, Aug. 23, 1944 – John P. Gehringer, 63, died suddenly Tuesday evening from a heart attack at Clear Lake where he and Clyde Husted had gone Monday on business. The two men were out on the lake in a boat fishing when he collapsed and died a short time after he was taken ashore. An autopsy was held Wednesday. Funeral rites have not been made, pending word from his children.
Born At St. Marys
Mr. Gehringer was born at St. Marys, April 6, 1881. His father died 38 years ago and his mother died four years ago at the age of 99 years. He had lived on a farm all of his life until the last five years when he and his family moved to St. Marys. He had been traveling for a mineral and stock feed company.
Surviving Relatives
Surviving are his wife and five children: Sgt. Arthur Gehringer, somewhere in the Pacific; Mrs. Kenneth Whitcomb, Farragut, Idaho; Mrs. Lester Lichleitter, Des Moines; Mrs. William Bolton and Mrs. Tom Lennom, Oakland, Calif; two brothers, Joseph of Mohal, N. D. and William of Des Moines, two sisters, Mrs. Roxie McClavy of St Marys and Sister Jerome of Wichita, Kans.
