Cora Lucile McMaster
(January 15, 1906 – February 23, 1924)

The community was greatly shocked last Saturday to hear of the death of Lucile McMaster. Lucile was in Des Moines visiting and took a sore throat on Thursday. She was brought to her home east of Summerset and on Friday she died. Lucille was a bright and kind girl and the only child of the McMaster’s, she and her mother being great companions. She was a member of the Baptist church of this place and was interested in things good. She died with the dreadful disease diphtheria. She leaves to mourn her loss a mother, and father, many relatives and a host of friends.
Possessed of a disposition which attracted and endeared her to all with whom she came in contact, she will be greatly missed here. Funeral services of Miss Lucile McMaster were held at the home of her parents Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. A. Lapham, pastor of the Summerset Baptist church. Interment was in the Carlisle Cemetery. The sympathy of the community is extended to the mother and father in this their great sorrow. [Her death certificate states her age as 18 years, 1 month, 8 days, father = Walter W. McMaster, mother = Lula Epps]
