Vera Jean Minella
(July 28, 1935 - May 5, 2019)

Vera Jean Minella, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society Care Center in Indianola. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Friday, May 10, 2019 at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola. A visitation will be held at 10:00am prior to the service. Burial will take place at Pleasantville Cemetery.
Vera was born July 28, 1935 in Indianola to John and Lela Triggs. She was united in marriage to Edward Minella on January 27, 1956. Vera loved to sew and garden. She especially loved to attend school functions for her grandkids. Vera was an amazing cook who was known for her barbeque chicken and apple butter. When Vera wasn't doing all of these wonderful things, she loved to sit and watch the birds and squirrels. She was an in-home daycare provider and watched children for several different families, including her grandchildren.
Vera is survived by her daughters, Joyce Minella of Indianola, Susan (Roger) Manley of Milo, and Lisa (Matt) Anders of Milo; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Harmison of Indianola, Bill Anders of Colorado, Josh Manley (Shalee Van De Boe) of Knoxville, and Jonathan Anders of Iowa City; siblings, Janice Crittenden and Glen Triggs; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Chace Harmison, Harper Manley and a fourth great-grandson due soon, and several nieces and nephews. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. This memorial is provided by Peterson Funeral Home, 415 School Street, Carlisle, Iowa,
