Mr. Higens has labored under a sore affliction the most of his life, yet as long as health would permit rendered his service to the world as a carpenter by trade. Having received a fall last September he has since been failing in health. During which time he has been tenderly cared for by his wife and children, until he answered the call of the death angel Wednesday morning, December 5, 1923, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Maude Bedwell at Valley Junction. He was 64 years, 10 months and 29 days of age. He had been a kind husband and father, a good neighbor and an upright citizen in the community in which he has spent most of his life.
