Tod Hunter Merrifield
(September 11, 1957 - December 17, 2019)

Tod Hunter Merrifield, 62, of Polk City passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at his home in Indianola. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Tod was born September 11, 1957 in Japan to Patricia (Turner) and Donald Merrifield. Tod will always be remembered for his longtime love of moral mushroom hunting, fishing, cooking, and reading. He is survived by his sons, Andrew and Tod J. Merrifield, daughter Candace Nelson, all of Des Moines, brothers; Drew(Robin) Merrifield of Carlisle, Glen Merrifield of Carlisle and Neal (Gayle) Merrifield of Omaha, NE., grandchildren; Dylan Merrifield, Kirsten Peacock, Ryan Nelson, Caitlyn Nelson, Chrisma Merrifield, and Calypso, Merrifield, two nieces, four nephews, his step-grandchildren, and many life-long friends.
Tod was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bruce Merrifield, niece Rachell Merrifield, his grandparents, and his dog Goldie.
