Charlie Scott Dougherty
(July 26, 1955 - March 27, 2020)

Charlie Dougherty passed away at his home on Friday, March 27, 2020. A celebration for Charlie will be held at a later date at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola.
Charlie was born on July 26, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert and Dorothy (Cassidy) Dougherty. In 1980 Charlie started racing drag bikes at Eddyville Dragway for about 15 years. He loved to get on one of his motorcycles and pick a direction and ride, usually on the back roads. Charlie loved Morel Mushroom hunting, taking pictures of clouds and working on Motorcycles. After retiring he started making videos of repairing motorcycles. He loved spending time with his family and grandkids. Charlie worked for Downing Construction for 30 plus years.
Charlie is survived by his brother, Robert Dougherty Jr. of Indianola, sister Mary Miller of Indianola; children, Karla Mason (Colt) of Milo, Matt Dougherty (Shelby) of Pleasant Hill, and Bryan Dougherty of Seattle Washington; grandchildren, Rylynn and Laine Mason of Milo and Tinley Dougherty of Pleasant Hill, his guard dog Eddie and many nieces and nephews.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Dorothy Dougherty, sister, Nancy Jones and brothers in law, Jerry Jones and Royden Miller.
