Dorothy Faye Uttley
(March 16, 1931 - March 29, 2020)

Dorothy Faye Uttley, 89, of Milo, Iowa passed away peacefully Sunday, March 29, 2020, at The Village in Indianola, Iowa. A celebration of life and burial of cremains will be held at Belmont Cemetery, Milo, Iowa, at a later date when concerns and precautions over COVID-19 have lifted.
She was born March 16, 1931 to Lorey Vincent and Mary Alice (Metcalf) VanSyoc. She graduated from Indianola High School and married the love of her life Keith Uttley on November 5, 1950. Together they enjoyed traveling around the country and visited all but five states. Dorothy worked as a bank manager for Peoples Trust & Savings Bank in Milo, the Milo City Clerk, served on the Milo Library Board and played the organ at the Milo United Methodist Church. Family was everything to Dorothy. Dorothy is survived by her sisters, Wilma Elaine "Katie” Iverson and Sharon (Pat) Knoer; by sons, Roger Michael (Sue) Uttley, Richard Allen (Linda) Uttley, Randal Lee (Elizabeth) Uttley; grandchildren, Todd (Sarah) Uttley, Michelle (Christopher) Palassis, Erin (Matt) Vanderwerf, Kelly (John) Fruin, Sara Uttley; great-grandchildren, Kali Uttley, Effie and I.O. Palassis, Baylee and Natalie Smith, Kaia and Jordan Vanderwerf, Gabe and Gage Fruin; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Jewell Ruth Jones; three brothers, Ralph Metcalf VanSyoc, Kenneth VanSyoc and Howard VanSyoc; and her loving husband of 67 years Keith Uttley.
The family wishes to thank WesleyLife Hospice and The Village team members who lovingly cared for Dorothy during her stay in Juniper. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Dorothy’s name to the Milo Public Library Building Fund.
