(September 14, 1929 - April 6, 2020)

Myron William "Brock" Brockmeyer, 90, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020, in Waukee, IA. Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time.
Myron William Brockmeyer was born on September 14, 1929, the second son of Milton & Amber (Hansel) Brockmeyer on a farm near Colesburg, IA. He graduated from Colesburg High School in 1947, the University of Iowa, BA in 1951, and Drew Theological Seminary M Div, Madison, New Jersey in 1956.
His call of God to ministry was received on July 4, 1948. In the middle of his junior year of college he became the student pastor of the Amish Circuit near Wellman, IA. This was the first of three student pastorates in Iowa, Missouri, and New Jersey.
In 1956, he returned to serve the Methodist/United Methodist churches of Low Moor; Kingsley; Traer-Pleasant Hill; Clarion, First; Atlantic, First, Fort Madison, Santa Fe; Mason City, Wesley; Cedar Falls, Trinity-Washington Chapel. After a year of retirement in 1994, he served as Visitation Pastor at Waterloo, First for 6 years.
Myron married Delpha Holthaus, also of Colesburg, following his junior year of college and together they ministered to the people God called them to serve. They have two children: Diane of Waukee and Mark (Theresa) of Shenandoah; two granddaughters: Melissa Heck of West Des Moines and Michelle (Jon) Cubit of Johnston and two great grandchildren: Jarod and Megen Heck.
He served on the conference Board of Pension, Trustees, Ordained Ministry and Missions. While in Mason City, he was chaplain of Post 8 of the Iowa Highway Patrol. In retirement he enjoyed working part time at Richardson’s Funeral Home in Cedar Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Virgil and daughter-in-law Angela.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to People for Paws, Shenandoah, IA; Bidwell-Riverside or Hope Ministry.
