Shocking Accident – A man by the name of Lockridge, a resident of Warren County, was instantly killed on Friday last at a mill in Lyon Township, that county. The band on the main shaft became detached, the wheel burst, and a piece of it, weighing about 70 pounds, struck Mr. L. on the head crushing out his brains. We have not learned whether the unfortunate man left a family. – State Register [Chronicling America]
