Marion Kay Pyle
(November 11, 1936 - March 26, 2019)

Marion “Kay” Pyle of Norwalk, passed from this life into heaven on March 26, 2019 at Regency Care Center in Norwalk. Services will be held 2 pm March 30, 2019 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Hammondsburg Cemetery, rural Milo, Iowa.
Kay was born November 11, 1936 in Neosho, Missouri to Edward Marion and Etna Versella (Hobson) Pyle. She spent her early years in Seattle, Washington before moving back to Sweetwater, Missouri. Kay graduated from Stella High School where she enjoyed volleyball, softball, cheerleading, and art. Kay married in 1955 and gave birth to daughter Kathy Cramer in 1956 and son Mike Cramer in 1960. In 1967 Kay began attending Simpson College majoring in Art and minoring in Political Science. She enjoyed drawing cartoons for the Simpson school paper The Simpsonian. She was proud to be the first person in her family to attend college.
In 1969 Kay moved to Santa Barbara, California and opened an art gallery to sell her own and other artists’ work. In 1971 she moved back to Webb City, Missouri to help her Mom and stepfather and eventually opened a Hair and Wig Salon in Joplin, Missouri. In 1984 Kay moved to Des Moines, IA to be near her children. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Kay also enjoyed reading , movies, going “junking”, crafts, continuing education, traveling, dancing, and of course art.
Kay is survived by her children: Kathy (Craig LaLone) Cramer of West Des Moines and Mike (Pauline) Cramer of Indianola; grandchildren: Justin (Hannah) Cramer LaLone of Tacoma, Washington, Kyle Cramer of Indianola, Ray (Heather) Cramer of Lacona; great grandchildren: Elliana Rayne Cramer and Paisley Jo Cramer. She was preceded in death by her parents: Edward Marion Pyle, Etna Versella (Hobson) Wildman: brother Larry Edward Pyle; half-brother James Edward Pyle; step- father Harry Edmondson; step brother Jerry Edmondson and step sister Ruby (Edmondson) Harriman.
