Gary Dean Fridley
(November 7, 1968 - May 22, 2019)

Services for Gary Fridley, 50, who passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in Des Moines, will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Liberty Center Cemetery, Liberty Center, IA.
Gary was a kind-hearted man. He brought joy and laughter to everyone around him. He was well known to many ball card collectors in area as he and his brother collected them since they were about 8 years old. His collection grew quite rapidly over the years as well as many of his interests. He was known to be involved with many of his children's after school events. He was a cub scout leader, a football coach, a constant viewer of many speech and debate competitions, going as far as 2 1/2 hours to go to support his children, and a color guard flag twirler on senior night. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He never missed a game on TV, went up to training camp every year for several years, and wore Viking clothing every chance he got. His generosity was seen by others. Over the past several years, he donated over 19 gallons of blood and volunteered to drive for Life Serve Blood Center.
He is survived by his children, Jessica Fridley and Derrick Fridley and their mother Kathy Fridley; father, Tom Fridley; siblings, Rod (Julie) Fridley and Cindy (Kenny) Crall; nieces Amanda Quinn and Jenny Sveum, and nephews, Ben Crall and Roman Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his mother Ann Fridley.
Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 27 at Overton Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Life Serve, Mid Iowa Council of Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa, or S.E. Warren Community School Military Memorial. This memorial is provided by Overton Funeral Home, 501 West Ashland Ave., Indianola, Iowa, http://www.overtonfuneral.com/
