Services for Veryl David Wickett, 81, who passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, July 15, 2019, at the Indianola First Baptist Church with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Veryl Wickett was born on September 16th, 1937, in Osceola, Iowa, the 4th born son out of 5 boys. Veryl was a Semi-Truck driver for Younkers for 33 years and enjoyed his time on the road behind the wheel. He continued this passion after his retirement and drove new cars to locations all over the Midwest for Dealerships. He enjoyed spending time with many friends and family, having coffee daily with friends at Burger King, playing card games, golfing, watching the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs, drinking his daily beer on the deck, Square Dancing with his wife Kay, and going to Prairie Meadows once a month to meet up for breakfast with his old Younkers buddies. He was an active member of The First Baptist Church where he was a board member for some time as well as a Trustee and Head Usher. He will be greatly missed, forever thought of, and deeply loved by all his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Wickett; son, Steven (Holly) Wickett; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Keith Wickett. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacqueline Brookhart; parents, Ralph and Darlene Wickett; brothers, Merwyn, Bill and Stanley Wickett.
