Clayton A. McClintic, 73, of Indianola died of cancer Thursday at home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Indianola IOOF Cemetery. Mr. McClintic, an Army veteran of World War II, lived in Indianola all his life and worked at Wal-Mart and as a plumber. He was a member of IOOF Lodge and American Legion Warren Post and had been a fire-fighter, fire chief and fire Marshall in Indianola. Survivors include his wife, Kay; two daughters, Marty Alarcon of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Kathi Stanfield of Indianola; two stepdaughters, Betty Schutte and Delores Koopman, and a stepson, Dale Eeling, all of Pella: two sons, Robert of Indianola and Paul of Stuart; four sisters, Fern Neuman of Indianola and Darlene Beaver, Pauline Dailey and Mildred McClintic, all of California; two grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; and 18 step-great-grandchildren. Friends may call after noon Sunday at Peterson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or the American Cancer Society.
