Henry L. Staubus
(December 22, 1923 - November 15, 2017)

Henry L. Staubus, age 93, passed away at The Village in Indianola, Iowa on November 15, 2017.
Henry graduated from Mingo High School, served two years in the army, and then graduated from Iowa State College, now Iowa State University.
Henry worked for the USDA Soil Conservation Service in Humboldt County for 20 years and in Warren County for 10 years. He loved nature and to grow plants in farm fields or in his beautiful gardens. He enjoyed membership in the Indianola Garden Club, Lions’ Club, and the United Methodist Church.
Henry was born to Ira and Georgia Anson Staubus in Douds, Iowa. He married Mary Lou Braley in 1947. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary surrounded by family.

Henry was a wonderful father to daughter Diane Staubus of Atlanta GA and to son Tom Staubus (Sheila) of Duluth MN. His grandchildren include Annette Camara Denherder (Troy), Jonathan Camara (Kim), Kayli Staubus and Maria (Jon) Krouth. He enjoyed picking mulberries and fishing at the pond with them and with his three great-grandchildren, Alexa Denherder, Dax Denherder and Braley Camara.
Henry is also survived by a sister, Alice Fredrickson of California and sisters-in-law, Donna Staubus of Minnesota, Madolyn Braley and Marcia Braley of Iowa, and by many nieces and nephews.
Henry was preceded in death by brothers John and Murl and sister Adella Bittner.The family wishes to thank the staff of The Village Health Center for their kindnesses and care shown to Henry for the past four years.
