John Elsworth Sargent
(April 9, 1869 – May 26, 1935)

Lacona, May 7 [27] – The death of John Sargent, who has been ill for several weeks, occurred at his home south of Lacona Sunday morning about 1 o’clock. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Nazarene church. He is survived by his widow and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Ruth Rodgers of Lacona, and Mrs. Anna May Holland of Missouri; two brothers, Jasper Sargent of Lacona, and George Sargent of Missouri, and one sister, Mrs. Sam Shupe of Burlington.
