Mary Garbett
(November 20, 1921 - January 6, 2013)

Mary Garbett, age 91, died on January 6, 2013 at the Carlisle Care Center. She was born in Dallas, Iowa and had been a resident of Carlisle since 1960. Mary retired from the Iowa Dept. of Revenue in 1983. She was a charter member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Carlisle. Preceding in death were her parents; husband, John; daughter, Linda Dykstra; brother, Carl Sward. Surviving are her children, Jane Seymour of Ankeny and Dave Garbett of Knoxville; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, six great- great- grandchildren. Visitation for Mary will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church where her funeral services will also be held Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Oakview Cemetery in Albia, Iowa.
