(May 25, 1954 - January 29, 2017)

Jed Morgan of Indianola passed away suddenly at home on January 29, 2017. Memorial funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 6, 2017 at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola. The family will be present during a visitation one hour prior to the services. Jed was born on May 25, 1954 in Cincinnati, Iowa to William and Norma Jean (Whitacre)Morgan. Following his graduation from Lincoln High School in Des Moines, Jed attended the University of Iowa prior to beginning his career. He worked for many years with the City of Des Moines, and leaves behind many devoted friends and co-workers there. He was an avid sports fan, and loved both the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Green Bay Packers. He also loved local sporting events and spent many weekends watching his youngest daughter Izzy play softball and volleyball games. His kids and grandkids were his pride and joy, and "Papa" Jed will be very missed. Jed was also an accomplished musician and drummer and spent many years playing drums in a band.
Jed is survived by his loving wife Jody of Indianola along with his daughters, Jessica(John)Burkett of Altoona, Julia(Chris) Cart of Carlisle, Jocelyn Morgan of McKinleyville, CA., Cecily(Blake)Watson of Des Moines, Jordyn Martsching of Indianola and Isabelle Morgan of Indianola; brother, John Morgan of Des Moines; grandchildren, Jacob, Jade, Alyssa, Mady, Jonah, Amelia, Kruz, Aaliyah and Azi, as well as many extended family. Jed was preceded in death by his parents William and Norma Jean and a sister Billie Morgan. Memorials for Jed may be directed to Jody Morgan for donation to his preferred charities.
