Sally Salmon 92, passed away April 23, 2012 at her home. Visitation will be Thursday April 26, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Carlisle Christian Church 305 Market St. Carlisle. Memorials can be made to The Carlisle Christian Church. Sally was born March 31, 1920 in Milwaukee, WI. Sally grew up in Rippey, Iowa and graduated from Rippey High School then attended Thompson's Beauty School in Des Moines. Sally married Lewis Salmon on August 4, 1939. They moved to Carlisle in 1950 where they were in the downtown restaurant business for 16 years before moving to a highway location in 1966 as Five Sisters Maid-Rite. Sally was a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star, and a member of the Carlisle Christian Church. Sally enjoyed cooking for her many potlucks she attended, her quilting group and taught quilting lessons in adult education in Carlisle. Sally was an avid quilter and seamstress, making quilts for daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sally recently joined a exercise class and enjoyed her Dart bus trips, her Saturday morning breakfast , her neighbors, her many magazines, working in her flowers. Sally is survived by her Daughters, Mary (Ron) Sones, Diana Prall, Louanna (Larry) Pezzetti, Linda (Russ) Goodsell, Cindy (Dan) Berg, all of Carlisle; 15 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren, several Great- Great-Grandchildren. Sally was preceeded in death by her husband of 54 years, Lewis Salmon, Step-Daughter Betty Burnett, Step-Son in law George Burnett both of Nevada, Son in law Glen Prall, Son in law Bob Sinclair, two Grandchildren, Daniel Berg and Jeff Prall, Great Grandchild, Summer Sinclair, Brother Jack Hopkins of Perry. Sally devoted her life to her family and will greatly missed by her family and many friends. Online condolences can be made at www.petersonfunerals.com .
