Obituary
Mrs. Julia A. Hoover died of dropsy March 2nd, at the home of her daughter, Margaret, after a lingering sickness of four months. She was 77 years, 4 months and 1 day old. You who are bereft of a kind and affectionate mother remember the grave is not the great terminus of this life; but there the mortal is changed to an immortal body; a glorious body; one that will not waste away be disease. Remember, there lies no impossible gulf between. As the cold hand is clasped for the last time and the last farewell is said, remember that hand may be clasped again where there are no tears and farewell is never said. Oh how very, very sad, to lay a mother in the tomb, but then we know she is at rest where the flowers always bloom.
[Note: according to a story on the Hoover Mill, ran by Julia's husband, Ephraim Hoover, Julia's maiden name was Howry. See the Hoover Mill under the history section of the Warren County IAGenWeb site]
