Dwayne Ellsworth Walker
(July 29, 1930 - June 1, 2017)

Dwayne was born on July 29, 1930 to Forrest and Ada (Bowllin) Walker. He grew up in rural Norwalk, Iowa. He graduated from Norwalk high school in 1949. He was drafted into the army in October 1951 and served in the Panama Canal zone. He was Honorably discharged in September 1953. He was united in marriage to Edna Mae Utsler on May 27, 1951. Four children were born to this union. Dwayne milked cows for Marion Perkins and also helped lay field tile. In January 1961, the family moved to Florida where he built boats. The family moved back to Iowa in 1963, were he farmed and raised pigs in rural Indianola. March of 1975 the family moved to a farm between Bevington and Patterson where he continued to farm and raise pigs. He retired March of 2001 and moved to town in Indianola where he lived till his death. Dwayne was a lifetime member of Linn Grove United Methodist church. He taught Sunday school and served as a board member. Dwayne was always willing to serve the Lord in any way he could and was always ready to help a person in need. His grandchildren were his joy and the great grandchildren even greater. Dwayne passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 3 days. Dwayne is survived by his wife Edna Mae, daughters Patricia (John) Vermace, Pennie (Raymond) Stafford, Janice (Bruce) Bogaards, and son Dwayne Walker II. 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great-grand daughter.
His sisters Gloria Policz, Evelyn Onstot, Helen (Craig) Cook, Connie (James) Wood, Judy (Charlie) Vasey. Brothers, Lowell (Marilyn) Walker and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Elmond Walker and Milton Walker; brother-in-laws: Bob Onstot, Clair Smith, Frank Policz; and sister-in-laws Ruth Walker and Neva Walker.
