Linda Jane Lathrum
(March 15, 1949 - June 20, 2016)

A Celebration of Life service for Linda J. Lathrum, 67, who passed away Monday, June 20, 2016, also known as the Rare Summer Solstice Full Moon - an exceptional event and the longest day of the year. Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 21 at Overton Funeral Home, in Indianola. Visitation will be held from Noon until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
Linda is survived by her son Jason, his fiancee Kimberly and their two children - Ryker and soon-to-arrive Raine; and her son Matthew, his daughter Peyton and long-time girlfriend Jayde; siblings, Larry Karn and wife Karen, Judy Miller and husband Charles, Jean Fahan and husband Gary, Neal Karn and wife Chris, and Todd Karn and wife Lorrie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Marilyn Karn. Linda was caring, outgoing, loving and passionate toward all who were lucky to know her. She always went above and beyond to make people happy. She went out of her way to help anyone in need and never said no to anyone. She brightened the room with her smile. She could move the moon with her laugh. Linda was a unique person who had unlimited passions. She had the ability to make everyone feel special. Linda is loved and adored by her friends and family and she brought an abundance of love to all the kids around her.
Linda was a tireless and devoted mother. She never missed a single sporting event. She took pride in cooking multiple dinners every night and traveling unlimited of miles for her boys' events and practices. Not to mention the late night ice creams runs. Linda loved the outdoors, water, and experiencing new things. She resembles a rainbow - once you have caught her in your life, you feel like you inherited a pot of gold. Linda never had a boring moment with her siblings, from getting picked on or calling a certain someone "toad'. There has always been an unanswered question, who is Linda's favorite niece? I guess we will leave that to the imagination. Linda was touched by two new stars in her life, and soon to be a third, her grandchildren. You had to wonder sometimes if her smile was ever going to wear off while being with them. Linda was and always will be very proud of her family. She exuded strength and unconditional love to all those who surrounded her, and respect and closeness passed down from her parents to her, which will continue to echo through generations.
Linda will be truly missed, but her love for life will never be lost. This memorial is provided by Overton Funeral Home, 501 West Ashland Ave., Indianola, Iowa, [http://www.overtonfuneral.com/]
