Celebration of Life Services for Cowboy Bob Killmar, 70, who passed away Friday February 17, 2017, will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, March 5 at the Annett Nature Center 15565 118th Ave, Indianola, IA.Memorials may be given to the Friends of Warren County Conservation Board.
Robert Edward Killmar, of Indianola, formerly of Spencer, passed away at his home in Indianola on Feb. 17, 2017. Bob, the son of Jerome and Mary (Rubis) Killmar, was born Oct. 30, 1946, in Spencer, Iowa, and graduated from Spencer High School. Shortly after graduation, Bob entered the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1968. Bob married Mary Carol Rooney on Oct. 22, 1977. They were later divorced. After moving to Urbandale, he worked for Kinney Shoes and became a drug and alcohol counselor at the Powell Treatment Center in Des Moines. In 1998, Bob went to work for the Warren County Conservation Board at the Annett Nature Center in Indianola. He loved his job as it allowed him to work outdoors and to be involved in the conservation efforts of the center. Bob was preceded in death by his father Jerome. He is survived by his mother, Mary and his sister, Jean Killmar both of Spencer and numerous friends.
