Desiree Dixon
(June 6, 1959 - March 13, 2017)

Desiree Dixon was born June 6th, 1959 in Bryan, Texas and passed away on Monday, March 13th, 2017. Desiree was the beloved daughter of Marsha Montgomery and niece of Paula Selle and Kay White. She was proceded in death by her grandparents, Aubery and Vivian White and Father, David Samuel Dixon.
Desiree has a degree in business from Hill Junior College in Texas and a bachelor in Fine Arts in performance production from Cornish College of Arts in Seattle, Washington. Desiree had a long career in the theatre. She was a a set, lighting and costume designer in Seattle along with her own production company, Three Angel Theatre where she wrote, directed and produced. She moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1993, where she was the Costume Designer at the Kalamazoo Civic Players. In 1998, she became the managing director of the Whole Art Theatre. In 2004, she moved to Des Moines, Iowa as the Costume Designer for the Ingersoll Dinner Theatre until they closed. She enjoyed working on many productions across the country. Desiree has worked for many non-profits including Caring Core and the Des Moines Women’s Club. In 2013, she began working for Good Samaritan Society Indianola as the Resource Development and Community Relations Director, as well as, becoming the editor for the Iowa Lion Club Newsletter in 2016. Desiree enjoyed helping people and working with seniors. While working for Good Samaritan, Desiree was proud to create the Good Samaritan Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given in her name to Good Samaritan Memorial Park.
