Catharine Boley was born February 6, 1834, in Harrison county, Indiana, and passed away at her home in Warren county, Iowa, December 19, 1919, being eighty-five years, ten months and thirteen days old at the time of her death. She lived in Indiana until fourteen years old and then moved with her parents to Lee county, Iowa. She was united in marriage to John Kimport, February 22, 1859, Four years later, November 27, 1863, they moved to Warren county, where she resided until the time of her death. Her husband died in the spring of 1873. To this union was born seven children, five of whom service their mother: L.C., of Norton county, Kansas; George, of Mese county, Colorado; Ralph, of Warren county, Iowa; Emma and Mary, of Kansas City, Mo.; Frank and Nora having gone on before. There are also three sisters and one brother to mourn her loss, one sister in Kansas City, Mo., and two sisters and one brother in Clark county, Missouri. Mrs. Kimport became a charter member of the Liberty Center Methodist church under Rev. Smith in the year ’71 or ’72, but soon transferred to Otter Creek Christian church and has remained a member of this church to the time of her death. Owing to ill health she has been unable to take an active part in church work for a number of years. She had been failing noticeably for about five years, but her last serious illness lasted only about two days. Her going was peaceful and easy as could be hoped for. Mother, you are gone but your memory lingers still and by your faithful training when we were small we are what we are today, and we hope in God’s good pleasure we will soon be with you and the other loved ones that have gone on before. Funeral service was held at the Otter Creek Christian church, Tuesday, December 23, 1919, conducted by Rev. L. F. Woolson, pastor of the Liberty Center Methodist church.
