Indianola Herald, Indianola, IA, Thurs., Feb 19, 1920, p.5
C. D. Van Tress
Charles Dean Van Tress, son of Lewis and Fannie Van Tress, was born six miles northeast of Indianola, Iowa, May 13th, 1908, and departed this life February 6th, 1920, at the home of his parents near Liberty Center, Iowa, at the age of 11 years, 8 months and 24 days. He leaves to mourn his loss his father, mother, and four sisters, Edna, Jessie, Grace and little Ruth, besides a host of relatives and friends. He being the only boy and the first to break the family tie, made an especially severe stroke. He had many, many friends because of his loving, kindly disposition and while he will be missed here, God in His infinite love and mercy, has seen fit to take him in his innocence that he may be spared the severe trials and sorrows of this sinful world to dwell with Him in glory forever. “A precious one from us has gone. A voice we loved is stilled. A place is vacant in our home which never can be filled.” Card of Thanks: We have no words to express the gratitude to the friends and neighbors for the sympathy and help during the sickness and death and burial of our beloved son and brother. Lewis Van Tress and Family.
