Obituary
Cora Evelyn Benge was born near Milo, Iowa, February 20, 1878 and departed this life October 26, 1920 age 42 years, 8 months and 6 days. She was united in marriage to Charles Owen, February 1892. To this union was born one son, Everett of Ottumwa, Iowa. On June 19, 1920 she was again united in marriage to John Ferrell, since that time she had resided on a farm south west of Milo, where she fell ill and passed on after several weeks of intense suffering. She was a member of the Christian Union Church. There remains to mourn her loss; her husband, her son, five brothers and six sisters, one grand daughter, Dorothy Owens of Ottumwa, Iowa. The brothers and sisters are: James Benge of Nebraska; Eck and John, of Indianola, Iowa; Tom of Ottumwa, Iowa; Charles of Milo, Iowa; Sarah Morgan of Oklahoma; Elizabeth Smith of Indianola, Iowa; Nancy Kendall and Lula Clary of Milo, Iowa; Nellie Wolver of Tray, Iowa, also many other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held at the Christian Union Church at 2:30 Wednesday, p.m. The hymns used were: Shall We Gather at the River, at the house and Jesus Savior Pilot Me, In the Upper Garden and Some Sweet Day, at the church. The Pall bearers were: Jesse, William and Bayne Kendall, Roy Smith, Charles Willbee and Rancel Moon. Rev. Chas. Hollingsworth officiated assisted by Rev Homer Greene. Interment at Old Hammondsburg cemetery.
