Clarence Hypes
Oliver Clarence Hypes was born July 25, 1881, in White Oak township, Warren County, Iowa, died March 14, 1914 at his home in Indianola. He was the son of Henry and Frances Hypes. He was married at Wick, Iowa, February 29, 1903 to Naomi Ellen Hedrick and they lived near or in Indianola until his death. He leaves a wife and two small children, a father, one brother in Long Beach, California. Three brothers and four sisters live in Warren County. He had been a great sufferer, undergoing six operations. He was very patient through the many months of his illness. He expressed a desire before his death, to unite with the Friends church as he favored their teachings. He gave a clear testimony of his faith in Christ. He said several times, he was trusting in his Saviour, but near the close he expressed a strong desire to depart and be with Christ forever. Funeral services were held at the Friends Church on Monday afternoon conducted by the pastor, Rev. Chas. F. Moore. The family wishes to express their thanks to the many friends for their kindness and sympathy.
