Essie Arthur, 40, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013. She was born June 25, 1972 to John and June (Mead) Hutson in Des Moines.

Essie was a customs broker for Scarbrough International. Her passion in life was saving and caring for animals. She created, An Angels Destiny website for those who had experienced the loss of a pet. Essie was involved in several animal rescue organizations such as the ARL and Farm Sanctuary of New York, just to name a few.

Essie is survived by her loving husband, Jack Arthur of Prole; sister, Deborah Abrahams of Cumming; brother, Stephen Hutson of El Cajon, California; very special friend, Steve; her "kids", dog, Rosie, cats, Star, Sylvia, Cujo and Winston; and many other extended relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ron Hutson; brother-in-law, Mike Abrahams; and her "kids", Piper, Scooter, Okie, Smoke, Roscoe, Jack, Boogie and Lillie Bear.

A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League.
