William King
(July 20,1832 - December 27, 1904)

The Advocate-Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Iowa, Thursday, Jan 5, 1905, p.3
William King living three-fourths of a mile northwest of Cool, and who has been in poor health for more than three years, departed this life Tuesday morning, Dec 27, 1904. He had been feeling better for a few days and was sitting talking and joking with his family when the summons came. He was pronounced by all who knew him to be a devoted husband, a kind father, an accommodating neighbor and a good citizen. He was 72 years, six months and seven days old, and was one of the first settlers in this part of Warren County. He leaves to mourn his lose, a wife, four sons and four daughters, who were all present at the funeral except Mrs. Ella Williams, whose home is in Kansas. Thus in this death we are brought face to face with the words uttered by the Savior, “Be ye therefore ready also, for the son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.” The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Gordon of Winterest, assisted by Revs. Dorrel and Hollingsworth, and the remains were laid to rest in the Plain View cemetery Saturday, Dec 31st.
