Dora M.Cain
(March 1865-January 4, 1923)

Advocate Tribune, Indianola, Iowa, Thursday, Jan 11, 1923, p.3

The people of this place were very shocked and grieved last Wednesday evening when it was reported that Mrs. Dora Cain, wife of George Cain, had suffered a stroke of paralysis at her home here. She had called on friends in the forenoon and attended the ladies aid meeting at Mrs. Shulmer’s in the afternoon and seemed in her usual health. She returned to her home about five o’clock and at about six o’clock she was taken very sick, which resulted in paralysis. She continued to be unconscious until just at twelve o’clock Thursday, January fourth when death came and relieved her of her burden. She left her husband and eight children to mourn for her. These people have our deepest sympathy in their dark hour of grief. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services were held Friday at 2:00 o’clock in the Community church. Rev. Astley of Des Moines conducted the services assisted by Rev. Dunbar of this place.
William Kay of Mitchellville was called here Thursday by the death of his sister, Mrs. Dora Cain.
[Month and year of Dora's birth was found in the 1900 Federal Census, Richland Twp, Warren Co, Iowa, E.D. 141, family of George F. Cain]
