Nancy Lorimer was born near Mr. Ayr, Ringgold county, Iowa, May 18, 1855, and died at her home in Indianola, Iowa, January 4, 1923.
She was united in marriage with Homer Irving Brent, April 1, 1875. Together they walked the way of life for forty-four years when Mr. Brent answered the final summons and just three years from the day of his death, Mrs. Brent was stricken and soon she was also at rest.
They were the parents of six children: James Brent, who died January 19, 1855, at the age of seven years. The five children living are Fred and Marilyn Brent of this city, Mrs. Lydia Dane of Adrian, Minnesota, Mrs. Pearl Kyle, of Shannon City, Iowa, and Mrs. Myrtle Miller, of Aurora, Illinois. In early life she was a member of the United Presbyterian church, later becoming a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and in 1907 she transferred her membership to the Methodist Episcopal church in Indianola. She was a devout Christian woman whose life and character had the confidence of those who knew her. The funeral was held from the church conducted by her pastor, Friday at 1 P.M.
