Services for Beverly Ann Ginder, 75, who passed away Friday, November 27, 2015, will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Cremation will follow services.
Bev was born in Warren County to Fern Loraine Cassiday and Guy Blake. Bev lived her childhood in Indianola until graduation when she married Jim Ginder of Ackworth on May 29th 1958.
Bev retired from the State of Iowa as a printer. Bev’s greatest joy was her family. That included her sisters and brother, her 3 children, all her grandchildren and a multitude of nieces and nephews. She enjoyed camping and going to auctions where she could never pass up a “good deal.” Bev hated winter, this lead to Bev and Jim becoming “snow birds” they traveled south for the winter where they could enjoy the warmer weather.
Once diagnosed with Lung cancer five years ago, Bev never gave up. She was tough, she never complained, maintaining a brave and cheerful outlook of an optimistic future – even through countless radiation and chemotherapy treatments, broken bones, X-rays, hospitalizations and pain.
Beverly is survived by her husband, James L. Ginder; children, Aaron (Gracia) Ginder, David (Abby) Ginder and Lori (John) McLaughlin; nine grandchildren; siblings, Leon Blake, Susie (Ken) Keyes and Janet Beltz. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Fern Loraine Blake; sisters, Fonda Andrew and Sharon Bloom.
Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Overton Funeral Home with family present from 6 to 8 p.m to greet friends. Memorials may be given to Mercy Hospice.
