An evening service for Gary Dean Trotter, 58 , who died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at home, will be held 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 4 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Indianola.
Gary was born September 22, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of Gerald and Gladys (Weeks) Trotter and lived most of his life in Warren County. He graduated from Indianola High School and was a retired press operator, previously working for Acme Printing. He was an avid hunter and fisherman enjoying fishing trips to Canada.
Survivors include his sons, Michael (Melissa) Trotter of Martensdale and Jason (Jennfier) Trotter of Indianola; mother, Gladys Trotter of Indianola; sister, Marilyn (Robert) Hoskinson of Winterset; and six grandchildren. He is also survived by loyal companions, Chrissy, his white Labrador and Stinky, his cat. Preceding him in death were his father, Gerald Trotter; and grandparents, Bryan and Vena Weeks and Harry and Bertha Trotter.
Visitation will be held prior to services from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be placed in an education fund established for his grandson, Thaddeus Toole at: Ashworth Credit Union, 1111 Ashworth Road, West Des Moines, IA 50265.
