Alice Mae Botkin, daughter of Frank and Ruth (Irwin) Thompson was born May 7, 1892, in Milo and died April 14 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center at the age of 94.
On Nov. 1, 1913, in Des Moines, she was united in marriage to Ray Botkin. To this union six children were born, Murray, Helen, Dorothy, Lavaun, Donna Ray and Bonnie.
Alice was a wonderful homemaker and she and Ray lived for their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray; a daughter, Donna Ray; her son, Murray; and one grandson, Tom Schipper.
She is survived by four daughters, Helen Schipper, Dorothy Carter and her husband Joe, Lavaun Brocker and her husband Arvene, and Bonnie Crouse, all of Indianola; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Botkin of Indianola; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services conducted by the Rev. John W. Long were held Friday, April 17, at the Overton Funeral Home. Interment was in the IOOF Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Alice M. Botkin, 94, of Indianola, a former homemaker, died of pneumonia Tuesday at Indianola Good Samaritan Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Overton Funeral Home. Burial will be in IOOF Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Botkin was born in Milo, moved to Indianola in 1913 and had lived in Warren County most of her life.
Survivors include four daughters, Helen Schipper, Dorothy Carter, Lavaun Brocker and Bonnie Crouse, all of Indianola; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
