Obituary from The Winterset Madisonian newspaper, Winterset, Madison County, Iowa, USA, 4-1963:

Mrs. Hallie Belle Turner of Winterset, member of a pioneer Madison county family, died here Saturday, April 6, following a long illness. She was 91 years of age.

Mrs. Turner was a granddaughter of Caleb and Ruth Clark, who were members of the first pioneer party to reach Madison county and settle it permanently. She was a daughter of John N. and Rachel Clark Gordon, and was one of a family of 10 children.

As a girl she became a member of the Christian church, and was probably the oldest living member of the Winterset church at the time of her death.

She was married in January, 1891, to James F. Turner. His death occurred in 1945.

She leaves a daughter, Mrs. James G. Horsburgh of Des Moines; and a brother, Arthur (Red) Gordon of Winterset. Six brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Collins Funeral home conducted by the Rev. Robert A. Owens, pastor of the First Christian church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
