Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 8-2-2006:

James Earl Kimzey 78, died at home July 31, 2006. He was born in rural Milo, Iowa, September 13, 1927. He worked at Echo-Tech Contractors - Construction and Heavy Equipment. He was in the US Navy in WWII and Korea.

James was preceded in death by his wife Naomi Oliver Kimzey; infant son Jerry; and granddaughter Allison; sister Virginia Wickett; and brother John P. Kimzey. He is survived by sons, James R. (Marcie) Kimzey of Lacona; John Kimzey of Chariton; daughters, JoAnn (John) Mathes of Sycamore, IL; Jeanette (Gary) Wickett of Milo; sister, Shirley McPherson of Indianola; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

James loved his grandchildren, telling stories about his time in the service and growing up. He also loved the outdoors and working with his cattle.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Lacona. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Belmont Cemetery.
