Cora Merle McVey, 93, of Osceola died of a heart ailment Sunday at Clarke County Hospital there. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, with burial at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. McVey was born in Dunreath and was a waitress in Des Moines and Indianola many years.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; seven sons, Charles Jr., Darrell and Gary, all of Osceola, Max and Truman, both of Indianola, Bob of Mount Ayr and Eldon of Arlington, Texas; four daughters, Darlene Harlan of Osceola, Norma Burr of Shenandoah, Phyllis Welcher of Des Moines and Carmen Neer of Osceola; 52 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 8 a.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Osceola Senior Citizens Center.
